Since July 2019, authorities have begun imposing a security cordon in many government and police headquarters using 2-meter-high water filled barriers to avoid direct impact between police and protesters. Nicknamed and translated as 'Water Horse' in Cantonese, the unprecedented installation throughout the entire city becomes a new metaphor in this anti-government protest of Hong Kong and create a new urban scenery even in the days in absent of street conflict.
